What Happened to The Art Show?

admin | July 16, 2012

If you miss the vibrant art show that adorned four floors of Building One at Shetland Park from March to June this year, you’ll be happy to learn that that Bernie Zubrowski’s large kinetic sculpture will hang from the 5th floor ceiling, down into the atrium permanently.  The mobile has been purchased by Shetland Park in Salem, MA for new Shetland Arts space.

A science educator, Zubrowski has designed curricula and worked with teachers, often combining explorations of aesthetically interesting phenomena with the development of scientific concepts. During his years as an educator at the Boston’s Children Museum, he has designed exhibits, and Bubbles and Raceways inspired replications or variations in a number of science centers and children’s museum in the US and other countries.  This particular piece  of a series of arcs is made of foam core and moves with the air currents.

The next art show, Watery Visions,  will open in November and run for two months with oil paintings by Laurie Simko and Christopher Pendergast, digital work by Jenny Chava Hudson, and photography by Andy Montone.  Stay tuned for more information on the show.
