New Fitness Center Opens at Shetland Park

| December 28, 2011

Brandi Dion and Dennis Floyd are making it hard to make excuses about not getting to the gym or getting fit.  They’ve brought the gym to Shetland Park and have every kind of exercise equipment you’ve ever dreamed of, all in a huge warehouse space in the rear of the property at 45 Congress St.  They’ve opened a CrossFit facility, called CrossFit IronSpider.  If you’re not familiar with CrossFit, it is a coaching system where you work in a class with your own personal coach.

Co-owner Brandi maintains that anyone can do it and  that they’ve had plenty of grandmothers and grandfathers as well as younger fitness buffs getting in shape.  Their goal is teaching functional movements to keep people active throughout their lives.  They have a full class schedule including noon and afterwork offerings.

The Grand Opening is January 23, 11:30 – 7:00.  The ribbon cutting is at 11:30 with demonstrations, classes, refreshments, and information given throughout the day.  Shetland Park tenants get $50 off their first month membership.  Check out their website at or stop over and see these friendly people.  Nutritional counseling, massage and physical therapy are also available.
